The Quiet Hours
The Quiet Hours is an ongoing photographic series exploring the cinematic qualities of photography and its ability to evoke isolation, mystery, and stillness within urban and suburban spaces. The work combines tension and quiet observation, uncovering beauty and unease in overlooked corners of the world where stories seem to wait, hidden in the dark, ready to be discovered.
The Quiet Hours was selected for Der Greif's 2026 online exhibition Quiet Hours: Nighttime and Grief, curated in honor of National Grief Awareness Day. It's a fitting home for the series. Der Greif's curators framed the work as using "shadow and ambient urban light […] to build psychological tension," leaving "space for stories to linger in ordinary spaces."
"…nocturnal photographs [that] evoke an unsettling sense of emptiness."
