Portland At Night
Portland at Night captures the unique character of Portland, Maine after dark. These photographs were made during a week long Cinematic Storytelling workshop with photographer Todd Hido through Charcoal Workshops. The series transforms ordinary streets and houses into spaces that feel tense, and ominous. Shot on digital medium format using long exposures the work emphasizes the unsettling edge of the city, where seemingly innocuous homes take on a sense of danger, unease, and mystery after the sun sets. Shadows and light shape each frame inviting the viewer to navigate these quiet, foreboding spaces and imagine the stories unfolding within them.
